- 10. Project Goals/Objectives
- 1. This project will evaluate the sanitary sewer system for priority repairs and/or replacement of infrastructure. 2. Repair or replacement of system components, including pipes, lift stations, and related infrastructure, will be designed to ensure that the system integrity is maintained or improved to prevent groundwater contamination. 3. Maintaining a stable and effective sanitary sewer system will protect the integrity of the groundwater and adjacent environmental systems.

- In Progress Funds Not Budgeted
- 15. In what way does this project meet the goals and objectives of the Department of Marine Resources, which includes enhancing, protecting and conserving the marine interest of Mississippi for present and future generations?
- As the City of Ocean Springs grows and the sanitary sewer system in particular ages, repairs and improvements are essential to ensure continued environmental quality of the groundwater and the health and resiliency of the surrounding ecosystems. This project would allow the city to identify and address any potential issues with the sewer system before there is a direct impact on the surrounding natural habitats.
