- 9. Project Description/Overview
- This project will construct boardwalk in three different sections from St. Jude to Porter Avenue. The approximate cumulative length of all boardwalk sections is 3,000 LF. By completing the boardwalk in these remaining locations, the boardwalk in Biloxi will be complete.
- 10. Project Goals/Objectives
- 1. Mitigate sand displacement and storm surge during weather events. 2. Maintain Hwy 90 as a reliable means of travel, even during weather events. 3. Pursue the ultimate goal of constructing boardwalk with knee wall along the 26 miles of Sand Beach (from east to west).

- Yes: Constructing boardwalk with knee wall in the locations described above will offer increased protection against storm surge and sand displacement by providing an additional layer of protection during weather events.

- This project meets DMR's goals and objectives because it will enhance the existing sections of boardwalk by creating one continuous and cohesive boardwalk that will eventually extend down the coastline. Additionally, this project will protect the marine interests of Mississippi for present and future generations by maintaining Hwy 90 as a clear and reliable transportation thoroughfare, even during weather-related events.
