9. Project Description/Overview
This project combines the creation of a 10-slip public marina with key environmental restoration and infrastructure improvements on Back Bay in Biloxi, MS. The marina will be adjacent to the Bayside RV Park and Luxury Garage Condominiums and provide enhanced public water access, support eco-tourism, and improve coastal resilience. The project also includes the removal of a condemned bridge that currently blocks tidal flow into a critical estuary system, restoring natural water movement and habitat conditions. Additionally, all overhead power lines on site will be buried to improve storm resilience and aesthetic quality. As part of its long-term conservation impact, the developer plans to donate a large portion of the adjacent wetlands to the State of Mississippi, permanently preserving the area and ensuring its ecological benefits for generations to come.
10. Project Goals/Objectives
• Construct 10 boat slips with public access • Encourage marine-based tourism and recreation • Support environmental resilience by using low-impact materials • Remove condemned bridge and restore estuary flow • Bury overhead utility lines for storm resilience and visual improvement • Donate wetlands to the State of Mississippi for conservation • Integrate with ongoing Back Bay Blvd improvements • Create long-term economic and recreational benefits for the Biloxi area
