- 9. Project Description/Overview
- The project proposes to add several amenities for ADA and pedestrian beach access near Ulman Avenue. A boardwalk will be added to the existing ADA access ramp. The boardwalk will extend into the water and end with a platfom1. It will include a deck surrounding the existing fire pit and will be constructed with fiber reinforced polymer composites which is resistant to corrosion and needs very little maintenance. ADA parking spaces will also be added to Beach Blvd near the end of Ulman. In addition to the ADA beach access path, another ADA boardwalk is planned to connect to the existing pedestrian beach access ramp and extend to the downtown area.
- 10. Project Goals/Objectives
- Conserve and protect our natural resources and increase public access to our waters. The controlled beach access would help protect wildlife such as Least Terns and Piping Plover that frequently nest on our beaches. The boardwalk will be accessible and enjoyable to all citizens which will allow a safe and direct travel path for citizens to access the water.

- Yes: The project will provide a designated and safe water access point that will mitigate damage to the wildlife and coastline. The access point will provide a centralized and pennitted area for members of the ADA community. Therefore, eliminating and mitigating damage caused to our protected wildlife. The access points will be extremely useful to protect wildlife such as Least Terns and Piping Plover that frequently nest on our beaches.
