9. Project Description/Overview
West Harrison Water & Sewer District is proposing sewer improvements in the Stablewood Subdivision off of Menge Avenue in Pass Christian, MS. This subdivision is located 1.25 miles north of the Wolf River. Currently, there are a approximately 46 unserved homes in this subdivision relying on an outdated septic tank system that poses significant environmental risks due to malfunctions and overflows. The proposed project is the installation of approximately 18,000 LF of 3" PVC force mains, 3900 LF of 6" PVC force mains, and installing a grinder pump at each house that would connect to the 3" force main. The new line would connect to an existing discharge location that is on Menge Avenue.
10. Project Goals/Objectives
- Improve the Stablewood Subdivision Sewer system. - Install a sealed 3" and 6" PVC force main that would prevent leakage. - Install grinder pumps at each house to improve the efficiency of the sewer system.

15. In what way does this project meet the goals and objectives of the Department of Marine Resources, which includes enhancing, protecting and conserving the marine interest of Mississippi for present and future generations?
This project helps improve an unserved sewer system that is currently outdated. It protects current and future marine interests by routing the subdivision's sewer discharge away from the Wolf River and other natural bodies of water, which is better for the wildlife and natural resources in or near the Wolf River. It also eliminates the need for future maintenance and repairs that are disruptive to the natural environment and could result in untreated wastewater being released into the river.
